LA Lemon x Kutters

LA Lemon continues to do their thing, collaborating with the new brand Kutters. This collab features a Whitney Houston image with the phrase "Crack is Back." Well, we don't blame Bobby Brown but what was Ray J thinking?

Porch Shop Review: Blends

BLENDS
2930 Bristol St
Costa Mesa, CA
714-241-0666

Blends is one of Orange County's most popular sneaker spots. Blends specializes in sneakers with brands such as Nike, Creative Recreation, Jordan, Vans, Reebok and Adidas. One of the things that sets it apart from other stores is the location. Located inside Costa Mesa's "Anti-Mall", The Lab, Blends attracts hipsters who shop at locations such as Commissary and Urban Outfitters. Blends stays true to The Lab's formula with a creative display showcasing sneakers behind refrigerator style doors.

Blends even released an exclusive sneaker in a collaboration effort with Reebok. The pair only released at Blends stores.

PROS: great shopping atmosphere, tons of new releases, cater to both men and women

CONS: shoes only, stock sells quickly

Blends is one of the premiere in Orange County and the Southern California area. They also have locations in San Diego and Los Angeles. Check em out at blendsus.com/blogoc

Meet Mr. Jones

Mr. Jones is a rapper out of Long Island, New York. Jones, aka The L.I. Fly Guy, released his first mixtape in 2006. Dear Haters the Mixtape proved that Mr. Jones is ready to take over the Hip Hop industry. He is able to create great club bangers but also can bring in some motivating lyrics, balancing between commercial hip hop and underground rap. Jones has tried at acting, with an appearance on an independent film by Patty Dukes titled, "On Everything I Love." He also enjoys beat-boxing, basketball, fly kicks, and Polo.

In 2007, Mr. Jones is teamed up with The Porch for the official Porch track. Expect his newest mixtape to drop soon...

Diamond Day at Labels

We already showed you the Diamond Supply Co x Zenetti Wheels collaboration tee shirts that dropped this past Sunday. The Porch was at Labels to pick up our tees and we witnessed all the madness.

Ice Cream team rider Terry Kennedy, aka T.K. aka Compton Ass Terry, dropped by the store. Plan B and Famous skater Jereme Rogers also popped by to sign some autographs and lose to The Porch on some NBA 2K8. We let Labels owner Melloe Won direct The Porch for the day and he talked to T.K. and Mr. Rogers about their plans for '08.

Here's what went down on Diamond Day at Labels

Imitation = Flattery ?

Well, they say imitation is the greatest form of flattery but we were very surprised to see this on Youtube. I mean come on, at least admit that we came up with the idea first. You kids can do what you gotta do, but at least give us some credit. Anyways, we just want y'all to know that we are in no way affiliated with these people...they just wanted to make it seem that way

Porch Shop Review: BTNC

Beatnic
203 N Harbor Blvd
Fullerton, CA 92832

Beatnic is located in the heart of Downtown Fullerton, which has become a great place for young people to shop, eat, and barhop. The area has become a hot spot for hipsters and artists.

The store carries streetwear brands such as Stussy, Anything, and Mighty Healthy but their stock with many of the brands doesn't seem to be updated frequently. They do have updates on sneakers from Nike, Nike SB, Jordan, Vans, and even Bape. They also have hip toys for those of you that are into that. The employees know the stock well and are available if you have any questions.

The store was recently remodeled to give it the modern look and it made the store feel much bigger inside. Unfortunately, bees moved in during the renovation.

video of BTNC

PROS: sales often, extra goodies, can buy a whole outfit, friendly environment, good prices

CONS: caters to hypebeasts, need to update stock more often

All-in-all, Beatnic is definitely a great spot to shop and 1 of Orange County's finest sneaker/streetwear spots. The Porch gives it a stamp of approval. Check em out at beatniconline.com

Angels vs Mariners

The Porch was at Angel Stadium September 21st to see the (LA : p) Anaheim Angels take on the Seattle Mariners. Vladimir Guerrero received the award for team MVP as voted on by his teammates. But the Angels weren't able to close the AL West title, losing 6 to 0. And as always, the team hosted Big Bang Friday with fireworks after the game.

#1 Angel fan: David

Shout outs to everyone who attended this game. Lakers next!

DUNKxCHANGE x Active recap

DUNKxCHANGE August 25th was held at Active Ride Shop located in Tustin Market Place. The music was nice, the shoes were nice, and the ladies were nice. It turned out to be a pretty small event, which can be either good or bad depending on your preference. There was a lot of heat at this show and Active pitched in their part offering no sales tax on their entire stock. A lot of heads turned out for it so it was a success. And of course The Porch was there....

The classic In N Out never gets old.

Great job everyone with the DXC crew and at Active Tustin. Another successful DUNKxCHANGE!
